Working to Increase Diversity in the NHS
Ignite is working with partners in the NHS and funding agents to promote career development for disadvantaged groups in the NHS. Ignite has developed an Award in First Line Management programme accredited by the Institute for Leadership and Management. The objective is to support the career advancement and promote professional development for people wanting to develop careers in the NHS. For people from under-represented groups, it is being fully funded as part of the Promote NHS initiative.
If you would like to know more about the programme and how it works, please contact us.
Researching High Performance
Along with our Partners Novations, we are updating our research into what constitutes high performance in organisations. Two Harvard Professors, Gene Dalton and Paul Thompson developed The Four Stages™ of Contribution model over 25 years ago and established Novations, now a leading organisational and individual development consultancy in the U.S. Novations currently work with many of the leading organisations worldwide, including Ford, Prizer, Intel, Dupont and many others
To maintain and build upon this strong research foundation, we are embarking upon a study to re-validate and further explore the applications and implications of the Four Stages Model of Contribution. As you may know, this model is the base for Novations’ work in organisational and individual development. If you are unfamiliar with the model, the attached booklet will provide you with an understanding of this descriptive model of high performance. After becoming familiar with the model you will recognise the multitude of applications within the organisation – ranging from competency modeling to individual development to performance management, career pathing, and succession planning.
Ignite and Novations are currently soliciting participants for this research study. Participating organisations will have NO capital investment and will benefit by receiving not only
- the results of the study overall but also
- organisation-specific results as well as
- industry-specific results.
Using qualitative and quantitative data collection methods, Novations assumes all costs for participating in the study. Additionally, we will consider collecting information on items of special interest to individual organisations, as it supplements the research goals.
If you choose to participate, identify as many intact work groups as you desire. Each workgroup will participate as a separate entity in your organisation. The only investment we ask is that managers of participating workgroups spend between 30 minutes and 2 hours to complete on-line data collection regarding those in their workgroups. Additionally, between 5% and 10% of the workgroup members may be asked to participate in an one-hour interview or in a two-hour focus group.
We are truly excited about the opportunity we offer you to better understand your organisation and increase contributions of individuals to the success of your organisation. Much valuable information will be exposed with no financial investment.
You can get involved in this research in the by contacting Jonathan Broadhurst or Steve Keyes at Ignite.
